Get Involved

Thank you for your interest in the Mindfulness of Interpersonal and Intergroup Relations (MIIR) Laboratory! MIIR cannot run without the help of dedicated undergraduate students. Getting involved in a research laboratory is a great way to explore your interests, get hands-on experience in psychology and is essential for pursuing graduate school.

Most of the research will be conducted in the lab, and include on-line research, helping construct surveys, helping to conduct studies, entering data into a computer file, and basic data analysis. You will also conduct research in the library and attend group research meetings.

If you are interested in volunteering in the lab or working in the lab for course credit, please contact Dr. Ann Bettencourt at Please include (1) the number of credits you are taking (2) The number of hours you will be working at a job (if you are working) (3) GPA (4) Your class rank (5) Previous laboratory experience (6) Brief summary of research and career interests.
